At Beakon, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the information you provide to us when you use our secure Threat-Intelligence and Incident Management tools ("Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collected from Customers

Beakon provides a real-time threat detection and Incident Response platform to help organizations better respond to organizational risks. As part of our Services, customers are enabled to upload employee information such as the individual’s name and basic contact information (such as mobile number and e-mail address), so that Beakon can deliver notifications to targeted individuals.

We may collect the following types of information when you use our Services:

  1. Personal Information: To provide you with our Services, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, contact information, and professional credentials.

  2. Contact information: Information you provide to us may include employee names, workplace locations, email addresses and mobile phone numbers.

  3. Usage Data: We collect information about how you use our Services, including your interactions with features, the content you submit or upload, and other actions you take while using the platform.

  4. Organizational information: Information about your business, such as organization and industry.

  5. Log Data: Our servers automatically record information ("Log Data") created by your use of the Services. This may include information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page, pages visited, location, device information, and timestamps.

  6. Survey Information: Your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes.

  7. Correspondence: Records and copies of your correspondence if you contact us.

Please note that Beakon does not attempt to collect any sensitive information, such as personal financial information, social security or driver’s license numbers, or personal health information, on our Websites.

How We Use Your Information

  1. Providing and Improving Services: We use your information to deliver, maintain, and enhance the functionality of our Services, and to develop new features and offerings.

  2. Communications: We may use your information to send you and your employees important notifications, updates, and other communications related to our Services.

  3. Customer Support: Your information helps us respond to your requests, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support.

  4. Research and Analytics: We may use aggregated and anonymized data for research, analytics, and business intelligence purposes.

How We Share Your Information

  1. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with the following entities for specific purposes:

    • Service Providers: We engage trusted third-party service providers to assist us in delivering and improving our Services. It may be necessary to share our customer data with third parties in order for Beakon to provide the services requested by our customers. For example, we will need to transmit an individual’s cell-phone number to a telecommunications provider in order to deliver a customer-initiated notification designated for that individual and others. Under such circumstances we will only transmit the information needed to fulfill the obligations described in our customer’s service contract. These providers have limited access to your information and are contractually bound to protect and use it only for the purposes we specify.

    • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information to comply with legal obligations, respond to government requests, or protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.

Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax, accounting or reporting requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymise it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Your Choices

You have the right to access, correct, update, and delete your personal information. You can manage your preferences for communications from us. Please contact us at [insert contact email] for any requests or inquiries.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when the latest revisions were made. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
